Return-to-US timeline (CDC rules, in plain English)

CDC overhauled US dog import in August 2024. Every dog needs the CDC Dog Import Form, microchip, and minimum 6-month age. From high-risk-rabies countries you’re also restricted to 6 airports — LAX is on the list.

Heads up: CDC rules currently cover dogs. Cats returning to the US do not have an equivalent CDC restriction.
